● 1962: Founder Kenzo Takemoto established Takemoto Trading Co., Ltd. in Motomachi, Kobe.
Handled petrochemical secondary products with clients in European countries.
● 1969-1971: Opened Hong Kong office.
Plastic building materials business, fashion wig business.
● 1976: Started overseas export of high-quality clothing fabrics / textiles with focus in NY.
● 1980: Started exporting textiles to brands such as POLO RALPH LAUREN, GAP and BANANA REPUBLIC etc.
